Equi-libre

Project Overview

Equi-libre is a meditation app crafted to deliver a serene and focused experience from the very first tap. As users open the app, they are welcomed by a dynamic home screen that gently shifts between dawn, day, and dusk themes, setting the tone for mindful practice. The interface is intentionally minimal, with soft color gradients and subtle motion cues that draw attention to a single call-to-action: begin your session.

Sessions range from two-minute “mindful resets” to deep twenty-minute journeys, each guided by calming narration and ambient soundscapes designed to reduce stress and enhance clarity. I prioritized a seamless flow that removes decision fatigue, allowing users to simply choose their time commitment and let the app lead the way. Every screen is purpose-driven—from the simple prompt to set an intention, through the meditative narrative, to the closing reflection that tracks personal progress over time.

User Research

We conducted brief contextual inquiries and quick surveys to understand how people incorporate meditation into their routines. Insights showed that users appreciate flexible session lengths and crave gentle reminders rather than rigid schedules.

User Journey / Flow

The core user flow guides people from setting an intention to completing a meditation session. Users choose or skip a daily prompt, select a session length, and then enter the guided practice, ending with a reflective summary that tracks progress over time.

Problem Definition & Goals

Many meditation apps feel overwhelming with too many choices or long-form courses. Our goal was to simplify the experience by offering clear, bite-sized sessions, intuitive navigation, and a design that reduces decision fatigue while promoting daily engagement.

Wireframes

I created low-fidelity wireframes to map out the primary screens—home, session selection, in-practice guidance, and progress tracking. These sketches helped validate layout decisions and ensure that critical functions remained front and center.

Prototyping

Using Figma, I developed an interactive prototype that simulated key interactions: tapping a session, adjusting ambient sound levels, and viewing post-session reflections. This prototype was instrumental in gathering early feedback and refining micro-interactions.

Future Improvements

Looking forward, Equi-libre can become even more attuned to individual needs by integrating adaptive session suggestions based on quick mood check-ins at launch.

By incorporating simple in-app surveys or connecting with wearable data, the app could recommend breathing techniques, body scans, or visualization exercises tailored to the user’s current emotional state.

Adding a light social layer—such as sharing streaks or session highlights with a small circle of friends—would foster a sense of community and accountability without overwhelming the core experience.

Together, these enhancements will deepen personalization, encourage consistent practice, and position Equi-libre as a standout guide in the mindfulness landscape.
